Gevril Yorkville Automatic

Gevril Yorkville Automatic

Embracing the epitome of Manhattan's opulence, Gevril introduces the Yorkville Collection, a horological masterpiece that mirrors the finest offerings of the city itself. As the Upper East Side stands as an enclave of quiet luxury amidst the city's fervent pace, the Yorkville Collection finds its home here, a reflection of affluence and refinement sought by the most discerning patrons of industry.

Yorkville stands as the embodiment of duality – simultaneously a work of artistry that captures attention and a testament to classic sophistication that remains eternally understated. Swiss ETA and Sellita Automatic movements, a testament to precision, finds its sanctuary within a resolute 43mm case, a canvas that bears the legacy of meticulous craftsmanship. The date nestled at 3 o'clock and the prominent time markers are not just functional elements; they are a proclamation of Yorkville's exclusivity, an aura that can only be cultivated through relentless demand. This timepiece resonates with the quiet confidence that accompanies exclusivity, a presence that silently declares its highly coveted status.

Emanating from the heart of Gevril's artistry, the Yorkville Collection exudes a sense of well-appointed elegance, an ease that transcends mere aesthetics. Its understated grandeur is an ode to luxury that beckons to be experienced. Like the Upper East Side enclave, it derives its name from, this collection is more than a watch – it's a refuge for those who seek an emblem of the life well-lived, a piece of wearable art that transcends time.

In a world teeming with options, the Yorkville Collection is not just a choice; it's an affirmation of your status, an embodiment of luxury that is meant to be savored. It's a symphony of aspiration and accomplishment, a masterpiece that underscores your journey. In a city that offers the finest, the Yorkville Collection reigns as the crown jewel – an expression of your legacy.

The history of Gevril watches is a story that combines an illustrious watchmaking past with an innovative modern revitalization. The company origins date back to the mid-18th century and Jacques Gevril, the gifted Swiss watchmaker who is the founder and inspiration of the eponymous brand.

Today the Gevril name endures thanks to the vision of a Swiss horologist and businessman who lifted the brand to its current heights as an established Swiss watch company.

Jacques Gevril was an up-and-coming watch and clockmaker in 1758 when he accompanied his colleague Pierre Jaquet-Droz on a trip to Madrid. There, the men presented a selection of complex musical automata to King Ferdinand VI. The king was so impressed he bought every piece.

Jaquet-Droz returned home the following year but Gevril remained in Spain to fortify his reputation as a master watchmaker and was appointed Royal Watchmaker by the king. Gevril lived in Spain for many years thereafter, refining his craft and producing watches for the Crown.

Gevril’s traditions were survived by future generations of Gevril watchmakers including Moyse Gevril and Daniel Gevril, who built their reputations on horological innovations and artistic enameling techniques.

Today Gevril pocket watches are highly collectible: one is even located in the Muséum Genève and another is part of the collection of the Wilsdorf family, founders of Rolex.
